The Fuji Mini-Mite 4 Product Overview
Painting is a process that can transform any project instantly. It can also cause you the most headaches when it comes to achieving the perfect finish. I know I have had my fair share of disasters after putting in the effort and hours of preparation only to come away with a streaky finish. I finally stopped cutting corners and invested in a Fuji Mini Mite 4 HVLP Paint sprayer and have never looked back. It’s powerful, portable. It’s great for fine-finishing projects whether you’re working on furniture, auto or a piano – with 9 PSI the spray-paint tool is suitable for both waterborne and solvent-based coatings. It features simple fan pattern adjustment, three fan pattern orientations, quieter operation and longer life thanks to the exclusive Fuji Spray heat dissipation chamber. Conveniently, this kit includes accessories necessary for maintenance and upkeep of your spray painting tool and aircap sets for a variety of output choices.
It’s a great Paint Sprayer but it does have it’s limitations
The Fuji Mini-Mite 4 is very universal and can work in many applications but there are some limitations based on the design. A great example of this is if you’re painting houses. Anytime you’re laying large volumes of paint down this is probably not the set up for you. For small furniture and cabinet making this works great and it’s so much more versatile than your typical compressed air setup.
What’s Its got that others don’t?
Fuji Mini-Mite 4 which stands for four stages (you should really go on their website and look at what the benefits and the pros and cons are of each of the stage machines) they obviously cost more in the higher stages and the higher end equipment. I decided to go with the four because we spray a lot of acrylic and latex coatings and it’s a much heavier coating that requires that extra stage to beef it up in order to be able to spray those coatings successfully and not have that orange peel effect.
This unit comes with:
- 4-Stage Mini-Mite PLATINUM™ Series Turbine (9.0 PSI)
- Professional Grade Non-Bleed Spray Gun
- Stainless Steel Fluid Passages
- Patented Side Mounted Fan Pattern Control™
- Heat Dissipation Chamber™
- Noise Reduction Covers™
- 25ft Hi-Flex™ Hose
- Quick Connect Coupling & Air Control Valve
- Detailed User Manual
- #4 Ford Viscosity Cup
- Wrench & Cleaning Brush
- 2-year warranty on parts and labor
The whole system with the hose weighs about 28 pounds. This unit is not very heavy. It’s a very portable system, that has a handle for easy relocation, which is different than your compressed air setup and really is what sold me on this unit. It’s designed to be portable.
Cleaning Up……No Problem!
Almost all the problems related to your spray gun can be attributed to a blockage or a cleaning issue. No matter which Fuji HVLP gun you are cleaning the principles remain the same: you should always clean your gun after you spray as well as perform regular maintenance. It is never recommended to leave liquids in the cup overnight or for an extended length of time. Having said all that I found the Fuji Mini-Mite 4 easy to disassemble (even though there seemed to be many parts) and just as quick to clean and reassemble. I hate cleaning up in general so I was never going to look forward to this part of the paint spraying process but I was quietly surprised at the ease of this whole process.
When Something Goes Wrong
I suggest going onto Amazon reviews and other tool reviews to get an idea of how Fuji are as a company and how their warranty stands up but the ultimate test is just to hear it from other people and see when something goes wrong what happens. Fuji is an excellent company I think they’re made out in Canada.
I’ve had a couple issues not with the turbine itself with the hose leaking and damage. They sent me another hose like next day, it was incredible. They sent this to me for free with no questions asked. I didn’t even have to send the old one back. They even told me how to fix it, which I did while I was waiting for this new one. I basically have a spare now. Excellent Customer Service.
What I’m Trying To Say Is Fuji Mini Mite 4 is Awesome!
Overall I think that you’re going to love this system whether you’re a hobbyist or a professional I think it’s a nice crossbreed. It’s a little bit of expense but I didn’t want to get something inexpensive and have it breaking down all the time or just not producing the right results, everything about buying this system was a good decision. I am a huge Amazon shopper and I like their reliability and delivery time but I know you can buy it slightly cheaper on Ebay if that is your preference. I hope you enjoyed this review and if you have any questions about the Fuji Mini Mite 4 or want to leave your own personal review, leave a comment below.
